Conclusion

In short, I was getting involved where the cash flow is affected and customer became difficult in clearing our dues, Statutory Non-compliance at site, Clearance of GRNs, IMIRs, etc.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Timely submission of Invoices & collection of payments within the contractual period.
  • In case of any delay in realization of payments, visiting customers, understand their internal process & difficulties in booking our bills, simplifying the process and ensure that the cash flow is not affected to the project.
  • Periodical visits to customer ensures material billed are received at site without any delay, set a process at site on reporting of material at site, shortage, if any, reconciliation with customers on payments received Vs. balance, etc.
  • Going through the PO terms, advising the project manager on issuance of bank guarantees, forwarding the format to Corporate and obtain their advise on issuance.
  • Collection of Expired Bank Guarantees upon Expiry.
  • Ensure Statutory Compliance is met by the Contractors’ in making PF/ESI payments to Government for their Workers at site, On time wages paid to Workers and ensure that 100% compliance is met by all the Contractors.
  • In case of BOCW Cess levied, meeting the Government Officials of Labour Commissioner level, explaining the situation of Cess levied on Supplies as well, obtaining the opinion and expediting release of payments through Assessment.
  • In case of few customers where the cash flow is not at all there where the payment is linked with Proforma – prior to despatch, focusing such customers on war-footing basis, visiting their HO / Site, meeting the top most person of the Company, explaining the difficulties in continuing the supplies and ensured that the money is collected upfront.
  • Getting involved in any projects where the customers’ are not responding & cash flow is very badly affected.

Noteworthy Projects

  • HPCL – Bhatinda, BOCW Cess is payable @ 1% on the total contract price. Met the Labour Commissioner, Chandigarh and obtained the opinion confirming the Cess applicability is only on Construction portion and not on Supply portion.
  • BGR Boilers Pvt. Ltd, Chennai, Supply of Aux. Boilers to NTPC - This project was assigned to me along with Spares supply balance & collection of C forms for Rs.25 Crores.
  • BPCL – Kochi, Supply of 3x150 tph HRSGs – Visited multiple times to Kochi and ensured that the contractual obligations are met.
  • HPCL – Mumbai, Supply of 2 new heaters & revamp of 9 old heaters. Created a rapport with HPCL & EIL, collected all the payments over a period of ONE year.
  • Crest Steel & Topworth Steel, There are about 11 Boilers we were to supply. Customer has become bankrupt.
  • TNPL – Mondipatti, With the continuous rapport created, obtained delivery extension of the contract and collected all payments.
  • Balkrishna Industries, Mumbai, Saved Rs.15 Lakhs GST payment by meeting the concerned Officer, given necessary explanations and collected the payments too.
  • CPCL, Chennai, There were 3 jobs done where some partial amount was balance to be collected.
  • GIPCL, Surat, We carried out Engineering Study and submitted the preliminary report.
