Work History

Engineer

Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd - The Times Group
Mumbai
12.2022 - Current
  • Collaborated with original equipment manufacturers on high-priority projects, contributing to innovative solutions that deviated from conventional approaches, and gaining valuable experience and working methodology from German experts
  • Lead non-technical initiatives under ESG , including installing a drip irrigation system to minimize water waste and a biogas system.
  • Analyzed the energy consumption of compressors and the pressure requirements of machines at different times of the day using the Smart Air Manager, leading to significant savings in air and energy.
  • Appointed to a high-priority PAN India project , requiring proficiency in data analysis. Led the revamping of the Preventive Maintenance Module, transitioning from manual maintenance schedules to a more efficient system that triggers activities based on specified machine parameters. Utilized AI and ML models to determine optimal maintenance frequency.
  • Designed various parts and assemblies for the projects under the Make in India initiative rather than importing them from OEM's. Found suitable vendors for part manufacturing under specified tolerances.
  • Under the inventory reduction initiative , conducted an ABC analysis to identify critical parts requiring focus. Segregated the parts by performing FSN (fast, slow, and non-moving) versus Risk Quotient analysis, leading to the development of a strategic plan for reducing inventory by nearly 20%.
  • Created a detailed month-wise spend plan outlining major activities for the year, and allocated the R2M budget for the entire plant in collaboration with team members and department heads. Conducted monthly and quarterly reviews with each department, benchmarking usage against previous years to ensure adherence to the plan.
  • Utilized SAP ECC to track material movement and develop various analytical reports. Used the Plant Maintenance Modules to create notifications and reserve parts from the engineering stores.

Graduate Trainee

India Kawasaki Motors
Pune
09.2022 - 11.2022
  • Collaborated with Japanese colleagues, implementing efficient methods (5S and kaizen). Enhanced SOPs for motorcycle models. Solely managed assembly lines, using design software for improved jigs and fixtures.
  • Systematically addressed assembly challenges during the final stages of a two-year project through structured Excel formats and regular team meetings. Managed vendors for fabrication and 3D printing, ensuring timely completion of designs.
  • Resolved all assembly challenges within a month, enabling smooth pilot production. Demonstrated adaptability and effectiveness in a multicultural environment, acquiring invaluable skills for future growth.

Production & Quality Engineering Intern

Yawalkar group of engineering
Pune
09.2021 - 01.2022
  • Completed comprehensive training on state-of-the-art machines for part manufacturing, emphasizing quality inspections and industry norms. Executed numerous projects involving 3D part design.
  • Adapted progressively to the challenges inherent in managing complex projects, demonstrating a heightened ability to navigate multifaceted considerations and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Projects

  • IOT-Based Water Quality Management System (Team Lead):This system that utilizes three sensors (pH, conductivity, turbidity, and temperature) to monitor various water parameters. The system promptly alerts users if any factors exceed predefined limits through IoT technology.
  • Waste Heat Recovery in Automobile Engines (Team Lead): We created a 3D theoretical model designed to capture waste engine heat within an aluminum compartment, repurposing it to heat food during travel.
  • Vehicle Tracking System (Team Member): A system that sends the latitude and longitude of the parked car using GSM and GPS modules by texting "Location" on a particular customizable mobile number.
  • Wall Climbing Bot (Team Member): Played a role as a team member in designing a small rover with military applications. The bot utilizes propellers for upward thrust and individual wheel drive motors for climbing walls.
  • Mini Sugarcane Harvester (Team Lead): Developed two 3D theoretical models focusing on the critical stages of Budcutting and Budcollecting. These models cater to the needs of small-scale farmers who may face financial constraints in acquiring large-scale harvesters.
  • Implementation of Six Sigma Tools in the Dialysis Department of a hospital to enhance overall efficiency (Team Lead): Used the Lean Six Sigma methodology, resulting in an exceptionally low defect rate in the entire process from admission to discharge of patients in hospital to systematically address the issues and guide the process towards achieving near-perfection.
