  • Demonstrated course concepts of Advanced Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structures, Propulsion, Introduction to Avionics and Introduction to UAV and Computational Aerodynamics effectively through the creation of targeted materials and exercises.
  • Mentored undergraduate students in their projects (Completed Projects - 1. Experimental study of Combustion and Exhaust characteristics of LPG mixed with Dimethyl Ether, 2. Experimental and Simulation study of Pulse Detonation Engine, 3. Design of F1 car for drag reduction. Projects Undergoing - Simulation of Hydrodynamic Wake Behind Underwater Vehicle for Modelling of Sonar Signal)
  • Contributed to departmental goals by serving on various committees focused on curriculum development, accreditation requirements and student admission.
  • Organized Guest Lectures on Advanced Topics related to each core subject I undertook. I also organized a Short Term 5 day training programme on use of AI/ML in the field of Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering.

Research Associate

IISc Bangalore
01.2022 - 12.2023

Objective - Simulation of hydrodynamic wake generation behind a ship for sonar signal modelling

Numerical Methodology:

  • Meshfree smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method for prediction of free surface wake characteristics generated by ship

Work effort:

Work effort contains following steps:

  • Mathematical modelling and formulation of the problem with use of SPH for multiphase case
  • Computation of code input parameters for SPH simulation
  • Design of all algorithmic steps for code implementation of each section
  • Background mesh generation in MSC Patran
  • Implementation of data structure and algorithms through object oriented programming in C++ to store mesh connectivity, use of background mesh for SPH particle generation, storage and search, tracking of moving surface (ship) in fluid and its interaction with fluid particles
  • Solution of the governing equations and postprocessing
  • Validation of the simulation results obtained from SPH code by comparing it with the results obtained from same scale model using turbulence RANS/LES simulation in ANSYS-FLUENT
  • Experimental validation with a scale down model and validation of the results from scaled down model with LS_DYNA SPH solver
  • Visualization of the output and postprocessing of time varying velocity and pressure field data in order to model sonar signal
