• Neflamapimod inhibits endothelial cell activation, adhesion molecule expression, leukocyte attachment and vascular inflammation by inhibiting p38 MAPKα and NF-κB signaling
• As a summer intern, I worked on a project that explores new drug therapies for vascular dysfunction and high blood pressure.
• My focus was on investigating how a specific inhibitor called neflamapimod could potentially reduce vascular inflammation and dysfunction induced by LPS.
• This research, previously published by Menon et al. (2023), suggests that neflamapimod might have promising anti-inflammatory effects, which could help prevent the early stages of atherosclerosis by reducing leukocyte adhesion and vascular inflammation.
