  • Inventory Tracking and Monitoring: Real-Time Tracking: Monitor inventory levels in real-time using inventory management systems (IMS), ensuring accurate stock levels are maintained. Barcode/RFID Technology: Use barcodes or RFID tags to improve accuracy in tracking stock movements and reduce human error. Stock Audits: Perform regular physical counts (e.g., cycle counting or full inventory audits) to verify system records.
  • Stock Reorder Levels: Establish minimum stock levels for each item to trigger automatic reordering before stock runs out. Lead Time Consideration: Account for supplier lead times when planning reorder points to prevent stockouts.
  • Stock Classification (ABC Analysis): ABC Analysis: Classify inventory into three categories (A, B, and C) based on value and sales frequency: A items: High-value, low-quantity items that require frequent attention. B items: Moderate-value items with less frequent sales. C items: Low-value, high-quantity items that are less critical for monitoring. Prioritization: Focus on high-value (A) items to minimize loss and maximize return.
  • Supplier and Vendor Management: Supplier Relationships: Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and timely deliveries, avoiding stockouts. Vendor Performance Monitoring: Track vendor performance based on delivery timelines, order accuracy, and product quality to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Returns and Reconciliation: Return Processing: Effectively manage returns, ensuring that returned goods are inspected, restocked, or disposed of properly. Stock Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile inventory records with actual stock to ensure consistency and correct discrepancies.
