Project Name: Model Build Programme (ongoing)

Client: Severn Trent

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Current responsibilities include delivery management, co-ordination between UK and GTC, technical direction for the project team and reviewing AMP7 Modelling work.
  • Responsible for completion of hydraulic model build, field test planning, demand analysis, analysis of simulation results and model calibration.
  • Calculation of average and peak factors for calibrated model using data from the previous years. Validation of calibrated models by applying ADD factor in CG model.
  • Rebuilding the DMA models for STW distribution areas, calibrate them as per standards, merge them with the respective control group models and develop average day demand models.
  • I have Prepared the DMA calibration and TM calibration methodology, and also updated model build procedure document.
  • I have observed that, team has been doing more manual work for adding logger IDs to node's attribute and updating the logger description in the model which was time consuming task. Discussed this with project team and suggested to incorporate a tool that automates the process, by taking help of digital team, we developed "Hydrant and Loggers Analysis Tool", I have checked this tool for six DMAs and four control groups, and it is giving the correct output results. This tool has improved the process efficiency by 20%.

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The scope of the project is to process approx. 2000 schedules of flushing data using turbidity and chemistry data using YW macro tool
  • I have served 'Project Technical Lead' for this project and my responsibilities were, to understand the data processing procedure and data processing tool, identifying, resolving any issues while processing the data, to train and guide the team members for all the activities involved
  • The activities involved are download turbidity data, download chemistry data, process the data by using YW macro tool
  • I have prepared process checklist for the same activities
  • I was responsible for monitoring project progress and update the project controls
  • I have traded with both the aspects of doing and checking the data on this project.


Project Name: Resilience Studies

Client: Yorkshire Water (UK) ( March 2021 - June 2021) )

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The objective of the Resilience study is to rapidly identify the capability of the system as a whole to withstand an outage at any given segment (Functional Link) in the network. The greater the outage duration that can be tolerated, the greater system resilience.
  • my responsibilities included carrying out selection of peak day for validation, initial model to be validated w.r.t telemetry data, identification of F-links in schematic and in GIS, skelatonisation of model, demand analysis, preparing pipe leakage time repair spreadsheet and preparation of report.
  • I was also involved in tracking of project progress and budget.


Project Name: DMA Management and Pressure Optimization

Client: Yorkshire Water (UK) (April 2019 - February 2021)

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The project is aimed to reduce leakage in Yorkshire Water System by creating District Metering Areas (DMA) of manageable size and by optimizing the pressures in the Water Supply System (WSS).
  • This project consists of four activities Model fit for purpose, model validation, DMA splitting and pressure optimization.
  • Total 5 WSS assigned to Pune out of which 3 WSS in batch 1 and 2 WSS in batch 2
  • In batch 1, I have performed model fit for purpose, model validation, DMA splitting mark ups plus presentation and pressure optimization presentation activities for 1 WSS and DMA splitting markups plus presentation and pressure optimization presentation activities for 2 WSS.
  • In batch 2, I was involved in model fit for purpose, model validation, DMA splitting markup plus presentation and pressure optimization presentation activities for 1 WSS and prepared DMA splitting markup plus presentation and pressure optimization presentation for 1 WSS.
  • I have also had privilege of training new project team members on all the activities that was involved in Batch 1 like FFP and Model Validation spreadsheet, DMA splitting and various software tool that used.

  • The project consists of design of water supply components for four towns i.e., Yadgiri, Shahapur, Shorpur and Kembhavi
  • Preparation of detail hydraulic design of Raw water supply components i.e., Jack well, connecting pipe, Intake well, Raw water pumps, Raw water rising main
  • Preparation of hydraulic model of distribution network for Shorpur town
  • Preparation of hydraulic model of Pure Water feeder main from WTP to OHT for Shahapur, Shorpur and Kembhavi town
  • Preparation of GIS maps for same above
  • Preparation of estimate for Kembhavi town
  • Responsible for to get technical approval by client.


Project Name: Preparation of design and estimate of Pathrgaon lift irrigation scheme.

Client: Chief Engineer, water irrigation department, Amravati

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • This project aims at providing water for irrigation purpose at farms.
  • The total area covered in this project was 2463 Ha.
  • I have carried out hydraulic design of raw water and booster pumps and preparation of hydraulic model for pumped pipe distribution network approximately network length of 102 km.


Project Name: Doddaballapura Water Supply Scheme

Client: Karnataka Water Supply and Drainage Board, Bangalore

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The project included demand calculation, model building and analysis of model with pressure control. Total length of distribution network was 210 Km. Prasad has analyzed and designed distribution network.
  • He has analyzed zonal performance for all 8 zones. Pressure reducing valves were used to maintain pressure between 10 m to 20 m in each DMA.


Project Name: Bhalki Water Supply Scheme

Client: Karnataka Water Supply and Drainage Board, Gulbarga

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The scope of the project involved providing infrastructure design for Water Distribution System for Bhalki town. Prasad was assigned to forecast population and demand calculation, design of zonal water distribution network using EPANET software. Bhalki water network has divided into 5 zones. He has also worked on mass balance for elevated service reservoirs and prepared zonal maps in QGIS software and prepared detailed project report.


Project Name: Chitradurga Water Supply Scheme

Client: Karnataka Water Supply and Drainage Board, Bangalore

Scope and responsibilities:

  • The project included Demand calculation, model building and zonal water network models of all seven zones in Chitradurga city. I have designed models of all seven zones having DMAs in the range of 3-6Nos. till date.I have performed hydraulic assessment, analysis and proposed engineering works. The software used for hydraulic modeling was WaterGEMS.
  • I have also completed zonal performance assessment of seven zones which included producing reports based on analysis of network pressures (mean, maximum and minimum).


Project Name: Design of Sewerage Network of Hesseraghatta, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru

Client: Bengaluru Water Supply and Sanitation Board (BWSSB)

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The project includes detailed design of sewerage network of about 49km in length serving population of about 28000 souls.
  • Me and my project team worked as consultants for design of sewerage network and other civil units such as intermediate sewage pumping stations, sewage treatment plant etc. and electro- mechanical designs such as pumping machinery and pumping mains etc. Design of the network was carried out using QGIS, Microsoft Excel and SewerGEMS

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The project includes detailed design of sewerage network of about 45km in length serving population of about 30000 souls.
  • Me and my team worked as consultants for design of sewerage network of about 50 kms in length and other civil units such as intermediate sewage pumping stations, sewage treatment plant etc. and electro-mechanical designs such as pumping machinery and pumping mains etc. Design of the network was carried out using QGIS, Microsoft Excel and SewerGEMS.

  • The objective of this scheme was to perform a feasibility studies of existing water supply network systems (from source to consumer supply) for Jath town, to identify the problems and provide changes in existing water supply systems and eventually provide uninterrupted water supply to consumers
  • I have analyzed the consumer data using GIS, built GIS based hydraulic network models in EPANET, calibrated the models, identified low pressure zones, redesigned DMAs and ESR capacities to ensure equitable pressure distribution, designed the network for 15 and 30 year horizons, performed water audits to estimate water losses in the system and provided measures to reduce the losses in the system.
